Rod’s journey with Sensyst began in 1986, but his roots in building things go way back. With a degree in Kinesiology and Mechanical Engineering from Dalhousie, he’s always seen design through both a human and technical lens. When he took ownership of Sensyst in 1991, he didn’t just grow the company – he reshaped it. Over the years, he’s guided Sensyst from a furniture vendor to a trusted, full-service workplace design firm, helping clients navigate tight timelines, big visions, and everything in between. Rod brings calm leadership, deep industry experience, and a steady focus on what really matters. He’s known for his ability to zoom out on vision while staying grounded in execution – and for always putting clients first.

With a strong background in client services and business development, Nicole leads with empathy, strategy, and results. Her career in workplace design and furniture has been shaped by a passion for functional, people-first spaces – and a drive to exceed expectations on every project. As Vice President, she focuses on building lasting relationships, guiding high-impact rollouts, and delivering tailored solutions that work just as well as they look. Nicole’s mix of big-picture thinking and hands-on support makes her a trusted partner for both clients and the Sensyst team.

Melissa didn’t just fall into design, she found her way into it by always noticing the details others missed. After graduating from Georgian College with a diploma in Interior Design, she joined Sensyst in 2010 and has been quietly shaping commercial spaces ever since. Whether it’s drawing up precise construction plans, selecting finishes that bring a brand to life, or navigating the ins and outs of permits and project timelines, Melissa brings clarity to complexity. Her work speaks volumes, always thoughtful, always on point. Her clients know her for her calm energy, technical strength, and the confidence that comes from over a decade of doing the work right.

Karly has always believed that great design is about more than just how a space looks – it’s about how it works for the people in it. With over a decade of experience in commercial interiors, she brings a thoughtful, detail-first approach to every project she touches. Since joining Sensyst in 2012, Karly has helped shape workplaces through smart space planning, clear construction drawings, curated finish selections, and hands-on project coordination. A graduate of Georgian College and a member of both ARIDO (Intern) and IDC, she’s known for her calm focus, technical depth, and quiet knack for turning ideas into well-built realities.

Weina wears many hats, and wears them well. A graduate of York University with a background in human resources and accounting, she joined Sensyst in 2015 and has been integral to our growth ever since. As Office and HR Manager, she oversees human resources, finance, and accounting, while also coordinating client services and supporting project proposals. Her deep understanding of both people and numbers helps keep our plan, design, build, and furnish projects running on time, on budget, and with the same care our clients have come to expect.

Caren brings a wealth of knowledge and a thoughtful touch to every project she takes on. A graduate of the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, she also holds her Building Code Identification Number (BCIN), adding a strong technical edge to her design expertise. With over twenty years of experience in space planning, finish selection, construction drawings, and permit packages — especially in commercial environments — Caren has become a trusted part of the Sensyst team since 2012. Whether working part-time or diving into the details of a complex layout, she’s known for her quiet dedication, thoroughness, and a steady commitment to getting every element just right.

Vanessa has a sharp eye for detail and an instinct for what makes a space feel right. After graduating with a Bachelor of Interior Design from Humber College, she joined Sensyst as a design intern and now contributes full-time as a Designer. An intern member of ARIDO, she stays attuned to emerging trends and user psychology to craft workspaces that look great and function beautifully. Her technical toolkit includes AutoCAD, Revit, Enscape, Twinmotion, Illustrator, and Photoshop, but it’s her creativity and client-focused mindset that really bring our concepts to life.

Morgan brings a fresh perspective and an innate sense of how people connect with spaces. She holds a Bachelor of Interior Design from Conestoga College and is an intern member of ARIDO. Since joining Sensyst in 2022, she’s applied her passion for creating functional, welcoming environments that enhance how people work, learn, and socialize. With proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, and Enscape, Morgan supports our design team across planning, visualization, and execution, adding thoughtful touches that elevate each project from good to exceptional.

Helen’s steady presence keeps our projects and people organized behind the scenes. With over a decade of experience in sales and administration, she’s a trusted support for our sales and furniture teams, preparing quotes and presentations, coordinating furniture orders, and ensuring that every installation runs smoothly. Since joining Sensyst in 2023, Helen has become known for her attention to detail and her warm approach to working with clients, suppliers, and contractors alike.

Shelley is a furniture specifier at Sensyst with a designer’s eye and a practical, schedule-minded approach. She turns intent into coordinated furniture drawings, spec books, and finish schedules—aligning standards across workstations, meeting rooms, focus areas, and lounges. Shelley leads showroom reviews, manages sample pulls, and works closely with dealers and installers so every detail lands as documented. Known for her calm, solutions-first style, she keeps projects moving by anticipating constraints and offering clear options. She’s fluent in AutoCAD, CET, SketchUp, Bluebeam, and ProjectMatrix/ProjectSpec, and she’s passionate about ergonomics, durability, and lifecycle value in every selection.
