Sensyst Office Refresh

Overview

As a workplace design and furniture partner, we believe our own office should reflect the ideas, products and possibilities we bring to clients every day.

The Sensyst Office Refresh turned our existing Mississauga office into a working showroom: a real, occupied office where clients can sit in the chairs, walk the flooring, hear the acoustics and see how furniture, finishes and greenery work together before they commit to anything.

We didn't renovate. No walls came down. Every change was made within our existing footprint, through colour, furniture, finishes, flooring, acoustics, accessories and plants.

Highlights

  • No construction: same footprint, same walls
  • 18 manufacturer partners represented in one office
  • A seating gallery where clients can try task and guest chairs side by side
  • Height-adjustable workstations, with under-desk walking pads at select desks
  • A glass-front boardroom and huddle rooms with writable walls and video conferencing
  • A kitchen and café under a canopy of trailing greenery hung from acoustic felt baffles
  • A materials library with fabric, finish and flooring samples in one room
  • Biophilic design throughout: hanging planters, moss walls, potted trees and planter dividers

The Brief

Refresh the Sensyst office without construction, and make it more inspiring, welcoming and functional for our team and our clients.

Because our office is also our showroom, it had to show a wide range of workplace solutions and prove that products from many different manufacturers can sit together in one cohesive design.

Colour and greenery were central to the concept. We wanted to move past the traditional corporate showroom and create an office full of texture, natural elements and plant life.

Most importantly, the refresh had to show clients that a workplace can be transformed without removing walls or taking on a major construction project. Strategic changes to furniture, flooring, colour, acoustics, accessories and greenery can completely change how a space looks, feels and works.

The Process

Our design team approached our own office the way we approach every client's: how people move through the space, how they work, how they collaborate and how the environment makes them feel.

Working within the existing footprint, we introduced a new colour palette anchored by Sensyst red, then layered in new furniture, textiles, flooring, acoustic products, ergonomic seating and workplace accessories.

Greenery became one of the defining elements. Plants were used throughout to soften the space, add colour and texture, create subtle separation between zones and bring a more natural feel into the office.

The refresh was also a chance to work with many of our trusted manufacturer partners. Their products turned the office into a hands-on showroom where clients can see, touch and test solutions rather than choosing from samples and catalogues alone.

Space by Space

Reception and lounge. A full-height red brand wall sets the tone the moment you walk in. A modular lounge sofa, patterned swivel chairs and red accent ottomans create a welcoming place to meet, while perforated felt screens soften sound and define the lounge without walls. A bar-height counter along the windows gives people a spot to work with a view.

Open office. Height-adjustable benching with privacy screens, mobile pedestals and tall storage, with under-desk walking pads at select desks. Moss walls and potted trees break up the floor, and patterned carpet tile helps control noise.

Private offices. Glass-fronted offices with sit-stand desks, ergonomic task seating and guest chairs, so daylight carries further into the floor.

Meeting rooms. Compact huddle rooms with wall-mounted displays, video conferencing, writable walls and hanging planters, set up for hybrid meetings.

Boardroom. A long boardroom table with power and data at the table, a glass writing wall and a red accent wall. Graphics on the glass front walk visitors through how we work: Plan, Design, Build, Furnish.

Kitchen and café. White gloss upper cabinets, dark wood-grain lowers and a herringbone tile backsplash around a large communal table. Overhead, a canopy of trailing greenery hangs from angled acoustic felt baffles, so one feature handles both sound and biophilia.

Seating gallery. Task and guest chairs from multiple manufacturers are displayed on felt-wrapped plinths along the main corridor, alongside red modular soft seating and planter dividers. Clients can try them side by side instead of choosing from a catalogue.

Phone booth. An enclosed booth gives the team a quiet place for calls without booking a room.

Materials library. Floor-to-ceiling shelving holds fabric, finish and flooring samples around a central layout table, so clients can pull and compare materials in one place.

The Result

The refreshed Sensyst office is more than a showroom. It's a living, working demonstration of modern office design.

Our team works every day inside the products and environments we recommend. We know firsthand how they perform, and clients see them in an active office rather than a staged one.

New colour, layered textures, updated furniture and abundant greenery have transformed the office without a construction project. The result is a warmer, more welcoming and more inspiring place to work, and one that will keep evolving as new products, ideas and technologies come in.

Outcome

The Sensyst Office Refresh proves that meaningful workplace transformation doesn't always need construction.

By working with the existing space and focusing on furniture, colour, flooring, acoustics, accessories and greenery, we created a completely refreshed office and a new working showroom for our clients.

It's a place to experience products in context, compare manufacturers and finishes, and see how thoughtful design decisions can bring new life to an existing office. Most importantly, it reflects what we believe a modern office should be: functional, flexible, welcoming and designed for the people who use it.
